For our first café of 2017 we'll be taking a look at how to create a great website for your organisation, but there's a twist... Katy Carlisle from The Wheel Exists will be creating a website from start to finish, live during the café.
During this Anneka Rice style challenge, she'll be sharing her insider tips and tricks with you and demystifying some of the jargon associated with websites and technology. As with all the Third Sector Café events, there will also be a chance to ask questions, learn from others and make useful connections.
As 21st January is National Hug Day, and with Valentine's Day also coming up, we thought we'd create a website for an imaginary campaign around giving a local charity some love.
What will we be doing on the day?
- We'll be starting from scratch and finishing with a complete website for our campaign.
- We'll be looking at just what can be achieved in a short space of time if you get really clear on your focus.
- We'll be showcasing all of the great features available in the popular Squarespace website building tool to help you create a great looking website, quickly and easily.
- We'll be talking about best practices, handy resources and thinking about what a lot of great websites have in common.
In the run up to the café we'll also be sharing with you the steps that we take to prepare for the day so we can maximise our effectiveness when we're actually getting our hands dirty and building the website.
So if you're thinking about updating your website and want to know how to have an impact on a budget, want to learn some new skills, or are simply intrigued about whether Katy can actually a manage this challenge, book on to the café now.
